What is the new Stances System Nolvus Awakening comes up with?

In Nolvus Awakening, you can now unlock new perks to get new stances giving new animations for your weapons with buffs and debuffs that differ from one stances to an other. This can be done using the custom new perks tree designed specifically for Nolvus.

Accessing the Stances Perk Tree.

Press the TAB button on your keyboard or B + WAIT MENU on your controller to open the Tween Menu and select Custom Skills

Then select the Stances Perk Tree

The Stances Perk Tree

You gain stances skill xp by killing enemies with melee weapons. To unlock perks, you will need the standard game perk points.

Stances Categories.

You will have different tree branches for every weapon types

  • Way of the Warrior : Stances for Swords and Greatswords
  • Way of the Barbarian : Stances for War Axes and Battle Axes
  • Way of the Crusader : Stances for Maces and Warhammers
  • Way of the Assassin : Stances for Daggers and Claws
  • Way of the Knight : Stances for Spears, Pikes, Quarterstaffs, Halberds, Twinblades
  • Way of the Noble : Stances for Rapiers
  • Way of the Death : Stances for Scythes
  • Way of the Fist : Stances for Unarmed Combat
  • Way of the Blades : Stances for Katanas and Nodachis
Stances Types.

In each Stance perk tree branches, you have 4 types of stances you can unlock.

Neutral Stance

This is the base stance you get when you start the game. To activate this stance press F1 on your keyboard or hold DPAD-LEFT on your controller.

As the name tells, the neutral stance doesn't add buff or debuff and a white icon will appear above your character when you activate it.

High Stance

To activate this stance press F2 on your keyboard or hold DPAD-UP on your controller.

The High Stance is focused on aggression and a red icon will appear above your character when you activate it.

When using this stance, you will get these buffs and debuffs

  • Normal Attacks +30%
  • Power Attacks +10%
  • Defense -10%
  • Movement and attack speed -20%
  • Stamina Regeneration -10%

Trying to activate the High stance without the right perk unlocked for the weapon you want to use will not work and you will get a game message saying which perk to activate in the stances perk tree.

Mid Stance

To activate this stance press F3 on your keyboard or hold DPAD-RIGHT on your controller.

The Mid Stance is focused on defense and a green icon will appear above your character when you activate it.

When using this stance, you will get these buffs and debuffs

  • Block +10%
  • Damage Reduction +5%
  • Resistance +10%
  • Attack Power -10%

Trying to activate the Mid stance without the right perk unlocked for the weapon you want to use will not work and you will get a game message saying which perk to activate in the stances perk tree.

Low Stance

To activate this stance press F4 on your keyboard or hold DPAD-DOWN on your controller.

The Low Stance is focused on fast actions and a blue icon will appear above your character when you activate it.

When using this stance, you will get these buffs and debuffs

  • Attack speed +20%
  • Movement speed +10%
  • Power attack stamina cost -20%
  • Stamina Regeneration +10%
  • Attack power -20%

Trying to activate the Low stance without the right perk unlocked for the weapon you want to use will not work and you will get a game message saying which perk to activate in the stances perk tree.
