This process will help you to get rid of any performance or stability issues using the mod No Grass In Object installed at section 5.6.2 Grass by caching and pre generating all grass for you load order.

When downloaded got to the folder where the file has been downloaded, extract the file Grass Generation MO2 Plugin v1-42161-1-1606136069.zip to a temporary location and copy the extracted file GrassPrecacher.py to your NOLVUS\MO2\plugins directory

Your NOLVUS\MO2\plugins directory should look like this

Double Click on the mod No Grass In Object and go the Text Files tab

Set UseGrassCache and ExtendGrassDistance to True

Set OnlyLoadFromCache to True

First temporary disable the True HUD mod from 2.1 HUDS section. This mod causes issues during the grass cache generation process. We will actvate it back after the grass cache is generated.

Double click on the Seasons of Nolvus Mod, select INI Files tab and set Season Type to 0 then save.

Restart MO2, click on the puzzle button and select Precache Grass

You will get this message, click on Yes

MO2 will launch the game and you will get the usual loading screen, let the plugin do its work (this will take 1 to 2 hours according to your hardware)

Your skyrim will be stopped several times and MO2 will restart the game to let it finish the process.

When done you will receive a message from MO2

Double click on MO2 overwrite (at the bottom), you should have lot of *.cgid files

WARNING!!!

Delete anything else you have in the overwrite to only keep the grass folder

When done right click on overwrite and select Create Mod... then name the mod Grass Cache - Default and click OK

When done, move the mod under LODGEN BUT DON'T ACTIVATE IT

Double click on the Seasons of Nolvus Mod, select INI Files tab and set Season Type to 4 then save.

Click on the puzzle button and select Precache Grass

You will get this message, click on Yes

Double click on MO2 overwrite (at the bottom), you should have lot of *.cgid files

WARNING!!!

Delete anything else you have in the overwrite to only keep the grass folder

When done right click on overwrite and select Create Mod... then name the mod Grass Cache - Autumn and click OK

When done, move the mod under Grass Cache - Default BUT DON'T ACTIVATE IT

Double click on the Seasons of Nolvus Mod, select INI Files tab and set Season Type to 1 then save.

Click on the puzzle button and select Precache Grass

You will get this message, click on Yes

Double click on MO2 overwrite (at the bottom), you should have lot of *.cgid files

WARNING!!!

Delete anything else you have in the overwrite to only keep the grass folder

When done right click on overwrite and select Create Mod... then name the mod Grass Cache - Winter and click OK

When done, move the mod under Grass Cache - Autumn BUT DON'T ACTIVATE IT

Right click on MO2 overwrite, select All Mods and Create empty mode above.

Type Grass Cache - Combined and click OK.

The mod should be directly placed under Grass Cache - Winter

Double click on the mod Grass Cache - Combined

You should have this.

Right click on the screen and select New Folder.

Name it grass.

In order to use the grass cache with dyndolod, the grass cgid files must have the season extension

• SPR for spring
• SUM for summer
• AUT for autumn
• WIN for winter

To avoid manually renaming all cgid files to add the season extension, we will use a tool designed for Nolvus to do that.

Create a new directory Grass Cache Renamer inside your NOLVUS\TOOLS directory

When downloaded, extract the file somewhere and copy the exe into your NOLVUS\TOOLS directory

Execute the GrassCacheRenamer.exe file.

Select as grass cache folder the NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Autumn\grass directory.

Select as combined Grass cache folder the NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Combined\grass directory.

Select the Autumn season and click on Rename

If you double click on the mod Grass Cache - Combined you should now see that all the autumn grass cache files have been added with the AUT extension.

Select as grass cache folder the NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Winter\grass directory.

Select as combined Grass cache folder the NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Combined\grass directory.

Select the Winter season and click on Rename

If you double click on the mod Grass Cache - Combined you should now see that all the winter grass cache files have been added with the WIN extension.

As spring and summer seasons are included by default during the first grass cache generation, you just need to copy all the files manually from NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Default\grass folder to your NOLVUS\MODS\mods\Grass Cache - Combinedt\grass folder.

The final result for Grass Cache - Combined should look like this

First be sure to only activate Grass Cache - Combined mod in MO2 (the other grass cache mods MUST be left disabled)

Double click on the Seasons of Nolvus Mod, select INI Files tab and set back Season Type to 5 then save.

Enable back True HUD mod.
